New 2017 Chevrolet Colorado at Reedman-Toll Chevrolet for Langhorne, PA

The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado is a competitive midsize truck. It's got features to keep you comfortable, can tow up to 7,700 pounds, and handles very well. Three different engines and many body configurations allow you to mix-and-match features for your personal and work needs. If you need a functional vehicle for the city and want a truck, the Chevy Colorado will oblige. The Colorado is better suited for areas that need extra maneuverability, beating full-size competitors in easy handling. Diesel or gasoline engine options top rivals in towing capabilities. This year, the Chevrolet Colorado receives a revised V6 engine to be paired with a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission that gives the Colorado extra power.

Under the Colorado's Hood

Your standard Colorado comes with a 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine under the hood. In the base model, this engine is paired with a six-speed manual. In all others, it's coupled with a six-speed automatic engine. This powertrain provides 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. For fuel economy, expect up to 26 miles per gallon. You can opt for a more powerful gasoline engine, a 3.6-liter V6, paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission that's new this year. This powertrain can get you 308 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 275 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, and for fuel efficiency, up to 25 miles per gallon. Your third option for your Colorado's powertrain is a 2.8-liter Duramax diesel four-cylinder and can be paired with a standard six-speed automatic or optional six-speed manual. For power, this powertrain can provide 181 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 369 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. Fuel economy in the diesel Colorado, you can get up to 30 miles per gallon.

Design of Chevrolet Colorado

There are ample options for configuration in this year's Chevrolet Colorado. It's a midsize pickup and can provide seating for between two and five passengers. There's an extended cab, available in a two- and four-seat configuration, and a crew cab with five seats. Two bed lengths and five trim levels are also available. Base, Work Truck, LT, Z71, and ZR2 are the trim levels, although there isn't much information yet on the off-road-oriented ZR2. The Base trim comes with standard features such as a four-way power driver seat with manual recline, air-conditioning, a tilt-only adjustable steering wheel, a rearview camera, vinyl upholstery and floor covering, front bucket seats, power windows, 4.2-inch display, and a six-speaker sound system. The Work Truck trim adds on cloth upholstery, carpeting, floor mats, fold-up rear jump seats, and a variety of available packages and features. The LT adds on many features including a tilting-and-telescoping, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17-inch alloy wheels, satellite radio, and an 8-inch touchscreen, to name a few. The Z71 trim comes with all-terrain tires, 17-inch alloy wheels, hill descent control, a locking rear differential, unique cloth and simulated leather upholstery, an off-road-ready suspension, a premium seven-speaker Bose audio system, a navigation system, and more!
