Your standard Colorado comes with a 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine under the hood. In the base model, this engine is paired with a six-speed manual. For fuel economy, expect up to 26 miles per gallon. You can opt for a more powerful gasoline engine, a 3.6-liter V6, paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission that's new this year. This powertrain can get you 308 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 275 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, and for fuel efficiency, up to 25 miles per gallon. Your third option for your Colorado's powertrain is a 2.8-liter Duramax diesel four-cylinder and can be paired with a standard six-speed automatic or optional six-speed manual. For power, this powertrain can provide 181 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 369 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. Fuel economy in the diesel Colorado, you can get up to 30 miles per gallon.
