Under the Traverse's Hood
The Traverse has a new 3.6-liter V6 engine that is linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission. This outstanding engine is more powerful and will work to produce 305 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It is also impressively efficient, with GM estimating up to 25 mpg on the highway when equipped with the standard front-wheel drive system. When the system is equipped for towing, Chevrolet has estimated that the Traverse can offer a 5,000-pound towing maximum. The RS trim will come equipped with an Ecotec 2.0-liter Turbocharged I-4 engine, which offers up to 255 horsepower and a higher torque rating of 295 lb-ft. This engine also has a nine-speed automatic transmission. Both of the engines will have stop/start technology which works to maximize fuel economy. There is also a new Traction Mode Select system on every model that quickly makes adjustments to the drive system depending on the road conditions. The High Country trim has its own Advanced AWD system that has twin-clutch technology for the ultimate performance in snowy, icy, or wet conditions.
Design of Chevrolet Traverse
The 2018 Traverse has received two new trim levels to its lineup, including the driver-oriented RS and the sophisticated High Country. Drivers can look forward to many great exterior design features with the RS trim, as it has gained a black bowtie, a black chrome grille, 20-inch wheels, and other blacked-out design cues. The High Country has upscale amenities including 20-inch polished wheels, Loft Brown leather appointments, suede accents, power-fold third-row seats and more. The all-new Traverse has also gained a more spacious interior, with a longer wheelbase and seating for up to eight passengers.
