The 2007 Silverado now has more conventional stacked headlights
flanking an enormous grille, with the large Chevy bowtie set against
it. The front bumper incorporates rectangular fog lamps. The
windshield is more swept back, yet the nose is taller and more squared
off. The aerodynamics
are better, thus the improved fuel economy and a quieter cabin. GM
claims that the Silverado and GMC Sierra are the first full-size trucks
to offer both 300 horsepower and 20 miles per gallon on the highway.
2008 Chevy Silverado
The 2008 Silverado uses a 4.3-liter V-6 and 4.8-, 5.3- and 6.0-liter V-8
engines paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The 5.3-liter
engine includes fuel-saving cylinder-deactivation technology and is
flexible - capable of running on E85 ethanol and/or gasoline. The
6.0-liter grants the maximum towing capacity of 10,500 pounds. This
capability also requires one of five suspension choices called NHT. The
other four Z-based suspension names (like Z71) are for a smooth ride,
enhanced trailer towing and handling, offroad capability and street
performance.
2009 Chevy Silverado
The 2009 Silverado benefits from a rear axle design featuring shocks
absorbers mounted outboard and more upright for better dynamic control
than that of the previous-generation models. The front suspension uses
coil-over shock absorbers and the rack-and-pinion steering gear is
mounted to the engine cross member to provide enhanced control and
feedback. Five suspensions are available: Z83 is the standard setup
designed for a smooth ride; Z85 is a little firmer for enhanced handling
and towing; Z71 is for off-road driving and includes 18-inch wheels;
Z60 is for maximum street performance and includes 20-inch wheels; NHT
is for maximum towing capacity and includes high-capacity rear springs
as well as all-terrain tires.
2010 Chevy Silverado
Inside the 2010 Silverado is available with two cabin themes, depending on
what the truck is to be used for, as a work truck or a more SUV-like
usage. The Silverado offers two distinct interiors. The WT, LS and LT
get interiors that are more work-oriented, while the LTZ draws
inspiration from the SUV lineup. Besides interior fabrics and colors,
the dash layouts are different, and the work trucks have larger
controls. The easiest way to tell the difference is that work trucks
have two glove boxes and LTZs have one.
2011 Chevy Silverado
For 2011 the all new Chevy Silverado offers customers a smooth ride and confident handling while delivering superior capability and power. Silverado was last redesigned in 2007. As with all full-sized pickups, the Silverado is available in a wide range of engines, sizes, and capabilities, so it's important to look at your primary needs and then select a model that best serves those needs.
